06 of 12 THE AFFECTIONATE AMERICAN AND THE FASCINATING FILIPINO (12 Months of Funny Romancing)

Welcome to my monthly blog. This year, let’s encourage a humorous romantic relationship. This is how to be a Funny Valentine couple all year round. Each month has one cheesy pun for an American-English speaker to share with a Tagalog-English speaking partner. Let’s begin with month 6 of 12…

JULY 2019: Who is July Who Owns a Fort?
by Dominique Liongson

illustrated by Dominique Liongson

Dear American, Your Filipino partner might ask... Who is this fellow named July? Check this out:

Q: How do some Filipino partners understand the American Independence Day?
A: If it is not in the Fort of Bonifacio, it must be in the Fort of July.
(“fort” = sounds like “fourth”)

Sometimes the sound of words seem funny when misheard. But, the one who misunderstood it can be deadly serious. Like the Fourth (4th) of July sounds like the Fort of July.

Don’t we just love the word play of puns? They are safer explosions of laughter compared to the explosions of Independence Day fireworks. And, more fun than getting burned with firecrackers.

By the way, when the case of the Fort of July is cleared, expect smiles and giggles. Enjoy the "fireworks" between you and your partner. Sweet!

Looking forward to more puns? There is a book that has 365 jokes to read and share. This is Pun-tastic Ways for Brighter Days. They are puns in riddle form that results in either eye-rolls or laughter.

Spend the rest of July with fantastic laughter. Buy this pun-tastic book now!

NOTE: The puns written once a month within 2019 are NOT included in the PUN-TASTIC WAYS FOR BRIGHTER DAYS book. These puns were made especially to display the writer’s witty talent. The objective is to entertain readers and to promote this book.
